McPike Addiction Treatment Center (ATC) is a 68-bed inpatient facility operated by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). McPike ATC is located in Utica, NY, on the campus of the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center (MVPC). The Center provides a proven individualized program of recovery for adult men and women who have a chemical addiction.
In 1968, the Marcy State Hospital established a unit in "F" Building and the Marcy Alcoholism Rehabilitation Unit was created which subsequently became the Marcy Alcoholism Treatment Center. In 1986, the Marcy ATC was relocated to Utica New York. The current facility was dedicated on December 5, 1986, in Memory of Margaret and Mickey McPike, two pioneers in providing residential treatment for alcoholic persons at their McPike Farm near Ballston Spa, in Saratoga County from 1958 to 1979. At least 4,000 persons advanced their recovery at this early combination of detoxification, rehabilitation, and half way house.
