FREE Training for Mandated Reporters
New York State Mandated Reporter Resource Center - NYS Office for Children and Family Services offers FREE online training for mandated reporters in NYS.
These trainings satisfy initial credentialing requirements for CASAC Section 4 and CPGC/CPP/ CPS Section 3 and the one-time requirement for renewal of the CASAC, CPGC, CPP and CPS.
The CPP and CPS are intended for individuals who provide alcohol and substance abuse PREVENTION services in approved work settings.
You should consider pursuing the CPP or CPS if your work experience is based on a comprehensive, multi-dimensional prevention services approach which includes the following five performance domains:
- Planning and Evaluation;
- Education and Skill Development;
- Community Organization;
- Public and Organizational Policy; and
- Professional Growth and Responsibility.
In order to become a CPP or CPS in New York State, you must:
- meet specific competency and ethical conduct requirements;
- meet specific work experience requirements;
- meet minimum education and training requirements; and
- pass the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium, Inc. (ICRC) Prevention examination.
